[Baseball] SGU's Moore Named First-Team All-SAC

SHAWNEE – St. Gregory's University pitcher Ben Moore was named to the All-Sooner Athletic Conference first team, it was announced this weekend. Moore, a junior left-hander from Jenks, became the first starting pitcher in program history to achieve the feat. SGU catcher Mark Milioto earned second-team honors, and first baseman Davis Murphy was named to the conference Gold Glove team.

SHAWNEE – No. 15 Oklahoma Baptist used an early barrage of offense Friday to defeat St. Gregory's, 7-3, in pool play of the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament at Bison Field. The Bison quickly overcame an early deficit, producing six of their 10 hits in the first three innings.

SHAWNEE – No. 15 Oklahoma Baptist overcame a five-run deficit to defeat St. Gregory's, 15-8, Saturday at Bison Field. OBU erased an 8-3 Cavalier lead by scoring 12 unanswered runs in the sixth and seventh innings. The Bison have won 21 consecutive games in the Holy War series.

SHAWNEE – Dale High School product Jared Coon had a big day in USAO's doubleheader sweep of St. Gregory's Saturday at Bill Nicklas Field. The senior outfielder went 6-for-9 as the Drovers took the opener, 5-2, before winning the nightcap, 6-5. The Cavaliers have dropped six of their last seven games.

PLAINVIEW, Texas – Matt Blackwell continued to swing a hot bat Friday, going 4-for-7 in a doubleheader split with Wayland Baptist at Wilder Field. The Cavaliers took the opener, 4-3, before falling in the nightcap, 9-0. Blackwell had another solid day after ending an 0-for-29 streak earlier in the week with a game-winning home run against Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College.
