CHICKASHA, Okla.- After suffering a disappointing loss to MACU on Friday night in Oklahoma City, the Cavaliers (15-7, 5-4 SAC) bounced back with a sweep over the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (2-12, 1-8 SAC). The Cavaliers set the pace early by winning the first set 25-19. St. Gregory's dominated the second set with a 25-14 win, but then had to fight to hang on to their 25-22 win in the third set.
The Cavaliers offense performed much more efficiently than the Drovers offense did, by hitting for a .189 attack percentage, and holding USAO to a .040 attack percentage.
Krystal Lopez (SR/El Paso, Texas) paced the Cavs on offense with 11 kills, and Courtney Murphy (SR/Tulsa, Okla.) followed close behind with 9. Gabby Ware (JR/San Antonio, Texas) performed well by putting away 8 terminations and also adding 8 digs. Sarah Ahrens (JR/Wichita Falls, Texas) recorded a match-high 22 assists, and also added 9 digs on defense. Sunny Clark (JR/Dublin, Texas) picked up 13 assists, and recorded a match-high 3 aces. Kayley Davis (SO/Irving, Texas) anchored the Cavaliers defense with a match-high 16 digs.
