OKLAHOMA CITY-

The St. Gregory's University men's golf team set a new school record for scoring in a single round this week at the Southwestern Christian Invite. The Cavs shot a blazing 6-under score of 282 in the second round of the event being held at the par 72, 6,970 yard layout of the North Course at Lake Hefner. A day one score of 299 left the Cavs in a tie for 3rd, and five shots out of 1st, but with their record setting round two score the men finished in 2nd alone, just four back of the tournament champions. The two round total of 581 is the second best overall score in school history, but sets a new record relative to par.

Morgen Pettigrew (SR/Shawnee, Okla.) paced the Cavs with rounds of 74, 70 to finish the tournament at even par 144, good for a tie for 5th individually. Pettigrew was one of three Cavs to shoot an under par score on day two. He carded four birdies along with 12 pars during his second round.
Jake Bay (FR/Shattuck, Okla) joined Pettigrew with an even par score of 144 and T-5 finish for the tournament after shooting rounds of 76, 68. Bay carded 6 birdies and 10 pars en route to his 4-under second round score.
Braden Ricks (SO/Shawnee, Okla.) began his tournament with a solid even par score of 72 and followed it up with a 1-over score of 73 to finish the tournament at 145 and in a tie for 10th.
Rickey Hong (JR/Choctaw, Okla.) fired a 1-under score of 71 in his second round to bounce back from an opening score of 79 to finish in a tie for 24th at 150. He carded 4 birdies and 11 pars on day two.
