OKLAHOMA CITY- The Cavaliers (31-21, 13-10 SAC) lost their first game and won their second game of the SAC Tournament on Friday at Oklahoma City University. The Cavs took on Mid-America Christian in game one, and fell 7-19, but the Cavaliers responded with a 17-1 win in their elimination game against Southwestern Assemblies of God University.
In game one, Justin Davis (SO/Oklahoma City, Okla.) was handed the loss on the mound, while Seth Keith picked up the win for teh Evangels. Ryan Lujan-Leonard (JR/Moore, Okla.) and Connor Parsells (SR/Oklahoma City, Okla.) led the Cavs at the plate with 3-4 performances, while Brady Kokojan (JR/Drummond, Okla.) and Jordan Martin (SR/Moore, Okla.) added two hits a piece. Brandon Marerro (JR/Carolina, Puerto Rico) and Connor McCoy (JR/Highland, Calif.) each added one hit a piece for SGU.
In game two, Matt Oxner (JR/San Jose, Calif.) picked up the win for the Cavs on the mound, his ninth of the season. SGU used a 5 run sixth inning and an 8 run seventh inning to close the game for the Cavs. Armando Fajardo (JR/San Mateo, Calif.) and Brandon Marerro paced the Cavaliers at the plate with 4-5 performances, while Connor McCoy added two hits and two RBI's. Jordan Martin, Layton Moore (SO/Jones, Okla.), Brady Kokojan, Adrian Soltero (SR/Oklahoma City, Okla.), and Connor Parsells each added one hit a piece in the blowout victory.
The Cavs will be back in action today (May 6) as they take on the loser between Oklahoma City University and Mid-America Christian at 6 PM at Oklahoma City University.
