FORT WORTH, Texas- The Cavaliers (25-16, 9-8 SAC) suffered two hard-fought losses to No. 12 Texas Wesleyan (32-11, 13-5 SAC) on Friday afternoon. In game one, the Cavaliers fell 2-1, and then gave up two late runs in game two to fall 4-2. 

The Rams scored two runs in the bottom of the third, and that was all they needed for the win. The Cavs did score in the fifth on Brandon Marerro (JR/Carolina, Puerto Rico)'s fifth homerun of the year, but they couldn't manage to push another run home. 

Mychal Yarbor (JR/Bandon, Ore.) pitched a strong 6 innings for SGU, allowing just two runs on four hits, while striking out 5 batters. Jordan Martin (SR/Moore, Okla.), Armando Fajardo (JR/San Mateo, Calif.), and Brandon Marerro had one hit a piece, to account for the Cavs three hits in game one. 

St. Gregory's grabbed a 2-0 lead in game two, by scoring one run in the first and another in the third. However, the Cavs lead didn't last for long, because the Rams scored one run in the bottom of the third and another in the fourth. TWU took their first lead of the game in the sixth at 3-2, and they extended their lead to 4-2 by the end of the inning. 

Matt Oxner (JR/San Jose, Calif.) went all 6 innings for the Cavaliers in game one, allowing four runs while striking out four batters. Brandon Marerro drove in both runs for St. Gregory's in game two. Jordan Martin had a impressive game at the dish by going 3-4 with a run scored, and Joseph Melchor (SO/Redondo Beach, Calif.) went 2-3. Connor Parsells (SR/Oklahoma City, Okla.) went 1-2 with a stolen base and a run scored. 

St. Gregory's will be back on the field on Monday, April 17 when they finish up a suspended game against USAO. They are scheduled to pick back up in the bottom of the fifth inning at 4 PM.
