SHAWNEE – Same script. Different game. Abi Housecroft provided the clutch goal, and St. Gregory's keeper-backline combo did the rest in a 1-0 win over Mid-America Christian Tuesday at Fr. Victor Roberts Field. The Cavaliers won their fourth consecutive contest overall, outscoring their opponents 11-1 during that span.

With the win, SGU (9-6, 5-3 SAC) clinched a first-round home game in next month's Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament – the program's first postseason appearance in more than 10 years.

It was Housecroft's third consecutive game-winner and Cavalier keeper Jena Flewelling's second straight shutout. Both were honored as SAC Players of the Week on Monday.

Scoreless through 65 minutes, Housecroft finally broke through when she converted a pass from Araceli Flores. It was Housecroft's team-leading and career-high 12th goal of the season – her sixth during the Cavs' win streak.

Flewelling and the backline did the rest. The Evangels outshot the home team, 11-7, but managed only three on-target attempts to SGU's four. Flewelling posted her third solo shutout, raising her solo/shared shutout total to seven for the season.

SGU concludes its regular season Friday at USAO. Game time is set for 5 p.m. in Chickasha. The Cavs' first-round SAC Tournament game is scheduled for November 4 at a time yet to be determined.
