SHAWNEE – St. Gregory's Abi Housecroft came up with her second consecutive game-winning goal as the Cavaliers hung on to defeat Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas), 1-0, Saturday at Fr. Victor Roberts Field.

With the win, SGU clinched a spot in November's Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament – its first postseason appearance in more than 10 years.

Housecroft, a senior from Leeds, England, scored the game's only goal in the 34th minute, sending a shot just past the reach of SAGU keeper Kathleen Espinoza. The score came on the heels of Tuesday's game-winner against Oklahoma City. Housecroft now has 11 goals this season – a career high.

SGU keeper Jena Flewelling took it from there, turning away all five of the Lady Lions' on-target attempts. Flewelling has now been part of six shutouts for the Cavs this season.

The home team was outshot, 17-14, by the visitors but put three more on goal (8-5). Housecroft led all players with eight attempts.

The Cavs (8-6, 4-3 SAC), winners of three straight, host Mid-America Christian Tuesday. Game time is set for 1 p.m. at Fr. Victor Roberts Field.
