WINFIELD, Kan. – St. Gregory's senior Robert Torres posted a top 10 finish Saturday at the NAIA Mid-States Classic. The event was hosted on the grounds of Winfield Veterans Home.

Torres, a native of Salinas, Calif., finished in a personal-record time of 26:08. That was good for ninth out of 189 runners. Torres' effort helped the Cavs place 10th out of the 20 teams competing.

Christian Arbuthnot continued his solid freshman campaign with a time of 26:46, which was 29th overall. Blake Crouch came in 57th with a season-best time of 27:43.

Jose DeOchoa (28:52, 100th), Matt Leedy (29:59, 127th) and Julian Gomez (31:05, 148th) rounded out the times for the Cavs.

St. Gregory's competes in the Sooner Athletic Conference Championship meet November 5. That event is scheduled for a 10:45 a.m. start at Gordon-Cooper Technology Center.
