FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Alexis Gee and Robert Torres paced their respective teams Saturday at the highly competitive Chile Pepper Festival. More than 500 runners competed in the event, which was hosted by the University of Arkansas.

Gee, a senior from Moore, finished 98th out of 254 runners on the women's side. She ran the 3.1-mile course in 19:38. Alexas Vargas was less than a minute behind her, coming in at 20:22 to place 151st.

Cathy DelReal (20:43, 171st) and Kathleen Joyce (21:11, 183rd) both cracked the top 200. Sophia Weisbruch and Adrianna Garza rounded out the Cavalier times with 21:51 and 23:32, respectively.

On the men's side, Robert Torres finished better than 65 percent of the field. His time of 26:24 led all SGU athletes and was good for 95th overall out of 301 runners.

Freshman Christian Arbuthnot wasn't far behind his teammate, finishing in 26:38 (112th overall), while Blake Crouch posted a top 200 spot at 27:47 (186th).

Rounding out the SGU finishers were Matt Leedy (29:17, 248th), Jose DeOchoa (29:30, 252nd), Luis Lopez (29:48, 259th) and Kris Parker (31:57, 283rd).

St. Gregory's returns to action next Saturday in Shawnee at the Oklahoma Baptist Invitational.
