FT. WORTH, Texas – Texas Wesleyan used a flurry of second-half goals to get past St. Gregory's, 3-1, Tuesday night in both teams' conference opener at Martin Field. The Lady Rams won their fourth straight overall, while the Cavs dropped their second consecutive game.

The teams battled to a scoreless tie through 45 minutes, but TWU came out firing after intermission. The Lady Rams outshot the visitors, 15-4, in the second half – netting goals in the 50th, 56th and 71st minutes to go up 3-0. TWU's Drea Molina, who came in with five goals on the season, was responsible for two of those scores.

SGU avoided the shutout when Beth McHale connected on a long-range score off a free kick – something she's done with regularity this season. The 84th-minute goal was her career-best fifth of the season.

Araceli Flores led the Cavs with three total shots, including one on goal. Jena Flewelling and Mallory Adams combined for five saves from the keeper position.

SGU (4-4, 0-1 SAC) resumes play Saturday at home against Southwestern Christian. Game time is set for 1 p.m. at Fr. Victor Roberts Field.
