SHAWNEE – McPherson's Cydney Lewis duplicated her efforts from a season ago, leading the Bulldogs to a 1-0 blanking of St. Gregory's Saturday at Fr. Victor Roberts Field. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for the Cavaliers.

Lewis, who netted the game-winning goal in a 1-0 McPherson win last season in Kansas, did the same this weekend in Shawnee. She settled a failed SGU clear and scored it past Cavalier keeper Jena Flewelling in the 41st minute.

The home team, which was outshot 8-2 in the first half, turned the tables in the second half. SGU had a 6-1 shot advantage in the final 45 minutes. The Cavs, however, couldn't find the equalizer. St. Gregory's managed to put only one of those shots on target.

Abi Housecroft led the Cavs with four shots – including the one on-target attempt. Flewelling had a game-high four saves.

St. Gregory's (4-3) travels to Texas Wesleyan Tuesday. Game time is set for 5 p.m. in Ft. Worth, Texas.
