NORTH NEWTON, Kan. – Powered by the senior duo of Abi Housecroft and Araceli Flores, St. Gregory's picked up a 2-0 road win Wednesday at Bethel (Kan.). The Cavaliers won their second game in as many days and improved to 4-2 all-time against the Threshers.

SGU (3-2) did its damage in the second half, controlling the offensive possession with a 15-3 shot advantage over the final 45 minutes. Housecroft struck first, sending in a shot from Flores in the 58th minute. The pair flip-flopped with 10 minutes to play when Housecroft returned the favor with an assist to Flores.

Housecroft now has a goal and/or assist in four of the Cavs' five games. Flores, meanwhile, sports a team-leading six goals through five contests.

The SGU backline, along with goalkeeper Jena Flewelling, handled the rest. Flewelling posted the shutout after turning away five shots.

St. Gregory's resumes play September 22 at home against Jarvis Christian. Game time is set for 2 p.m. at Fr. Victor Roberts Field.
