MOORE – Araceli Flores posted her fourth career hat trick, and for the second straight year, St. Gregory's opened the season with a rout of Randall University (formerly Hillsdale College). The Cavaliers controlled the possession, cruising to an 8-0 victory over the Saints Friday afternoon in Moore.

SGU, which downed RU 9-0 in Shawnee a year ago, got on the board in the 20th minute with a Flores score from Abi Housecroft. The visitors never looked back, leading 5-0 at halftime before Flores completed her hat trick just moments after intermission by converting a pass from Jessica Thompson.

The Cavs got scoring from five different players. Housecroft tallied a pair of goals and a helper, while Regan Credicott, Beth McHale and Gabriela Palma each accounted for one score. Ruby Arani assisted on two goals.

The Cavs outshot the home team, 20-9, including 10-2 in the final 45 minutes. Jena Flewelling and Mallory Adams combined for the shutout. Flewelling posted five saves.

St. Gregory's (1-0) has its home opener slated for Tuesday. The Cavaliers take on Jarvis Christian (Texas) at 3 p.m.
